My name is Ruschda O’Shea and I am currently Principal at Fairbairn College.    I started my career in 1995 and have worked in various schools in our townships and the Cape Flats and now the suburbs. 

I was seconded for 6 months to work on the Premiers After School Game Changer Project with 45 schools. I served on the Board of SANCA and volunteered weekly with Food for Life. 

I joined the PPA in 2011 when the organization started as I was a “new principal” and this body offered me the support I needed. I held the position of chairperson, deputy chairperson, and now Treasurer.  

Academic excellence, sport, culture, and extramural activities along with creating opportunities for our children have always been my greatest motivator to do more for our children as our children deserve the best. 

I have a 4yr HDE(Commerce) from CPUT, ACE: Leadership and management from UCT, and PDGIP: Management from UCT. I am an Accounting teacher and still teach, however, I prefer the Grade 8 and 9 EMS classes.
